Research expertise

Daniel De Charleroy is a member of the management team at INBO. He began his career in 1991 at the then-Eigen Vermogen of the Institute for Forestry and Game Management. He worked as a fisheries biologist for the provinces of Flemish Brabant and Limburg, focusing on establishing a fish monitoring network and implementing Nature-Technical Environmental Construction projects in these provinces. In 1994, he became a statutory researcher. He conducted research on fish migration, leading to collaborations with the Flemish Waterway Authority, the development of the website "Fish Migration Bottlenecks," and the policy map for fish migration in Flanders. Since 2006, he has been researching aquatic species restoration programs at the INBO research center in Linkebeek. Since 2014, Daniel has been part of the management team at INBO, representing the Estuaries, Landscape Ecology and Nature Management teams, as well as the Analytical Laboratory.
