Who is responsible for controlling invasive alien species? It is a question that is often encountered in management and policy. Prevailing principles include that the polluter pays, that each manager is responsible for its own land, and that sectoral governments play a guiding role (agriculture, nature, infrastructure)... But how should these principles be applied to species on the Union list?
In this assignment INBO draws up an assessment framework to test these species against. This should lead to clarity about the priority species to be managed, and the levels at which this should take place.
