ASPEDA - Age Specific Patterns Esas-Data

    Project Details

    Abstract

Within the Dutch 'Wozep" ("Wind op zee ecologisch programma", Offshore Wind Ecological Programme), statements must be made about the effects of offshore wind turbines on seabirds. This is why the Ministry of Economic Affairs, in cooperation with the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management (RWS), wants to have a number of population dynamic models drawn up for a number of species. The aim of ASPEDA is to obtain additional information on the distribution of year classes of seabird species across the North Sea on the basis of plumage data in the ESAS database. The age ratio will serve as an important input parameter for more reliable population models.
