Balance - Biodiversity and landscape restoration through agricultural systems for nature conservation and resilient farm economies (EVINBO)

BALANCE supports the implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation by integrating restoration measures into viable farming systems. The project operationalizes restoration targets for diverse European landscapes and develops a typology to identify and incentivize nature-positive farming models. By systematically comparing the impacts of various agricultural practices on biodiversity and ecosystem services, BALANCE builds the foundation for harmonized monitoring and integrated policy design. This results in practical transformation pathways that reconcile biodiversity with food security and farm profitability, ensuring a long-term balance between nature and agriculture.
