CaGullaS

    Project Details

    Abstract

For a pilot study on the effects of offshore windfarms on populations of Lesser Black-backed and Herring Gulls, 15 individual gulls will be captured at sea in the vicinity of Dutch offshore windfarms and will be equipped with GPS-SMS-loggers. The aim is to develop a method to catch gulls at sea and to investigate wether the loggers can be used to track down the colony of origin and to gather detailed information on their behaviour inside offshore windfarms.
