Abstract

Prescribed burning is a useful management technique to achieve the set nature conservation objectives for heathland reserves. In order to assure maximal effectiveness, a preparatory study will be conducted. This includes the selection of eligible sites (criteria), the description of conditions and techniques, and the elaboration of a simple scheme to monitor the effects and allow for adapted management afterwards
