Abstract
This research is part of the Provincial species action plan for the crested newt in West Flanders. The aim is to investigate ponds, where no recent information on the presence of crested newt is available, by means of species-specific eDNA analysis to find out whether the species is still present or not. These are pools that form a corridor or network in the vicinity of known sites. It concerns a total of 16 pools near Tielt (n = 11) and Kortrijk (n = 5).
