Abstract
eLTER PLUS will utilize selected sites and platforms for studying ecosystem responses to globally identified challenges related to ecosystem integrity, climate change and provisioning of ecosystem services. eLTER PLUS advances the European ecosystem, critical zone and socio-ecological research and related infrastructure by developing and testing interoperable services, capacity building by, e.g. training the site managers and site users, co-design of research by stakeholder involvement, improving the use of legacy and recent data by providing access tools and virtual laboratories, and developing novel tools for addressing ecosystem responses in a multi-disciplinary and cost-effective manner.
