Abstract
Studying fish swimming behavior is essential to understanding the connection between migration, growth and reproduction of fish in nature, but it is also important for aquaculture. The main objective of this COST project is to develop a research network that explores fish in nature as well as aquaculture in a multidisciplinary way, and during with researchers from different disciplines collaborate. FITFISH wants to realize a technological breakthrough in various areas, such as as more accurate monitoring of migratory fish and more animal-friendly fish farming, with better swimming behavior leading to quality enhancement in fish produced. FITFISH also includes training and exchange of young researchers to develop a multidisciplinary vision with these scientists.
