Abstract
Hydro4U demonstrates innovative and sustainable hydropower solutions targeting unexplored small-scale hydropower (SHP) potential in Central Asia (CA, i.e. Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan). Hydro4U brings innovative European hydropower solutions to CA, considering future climate change, transboundary challenges and integrating them into the Water/Food/Energy/Climate (WFEC) nexus. Hydro4U will specifically contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely clean, affordable and secure energy, climate action, zero hunger, economic growth, sustainable production and consumption, modernizing industry and infrastructure leading to clean water and sanitation, and peace and partnerships.
(EV)INBO will contribute to planning, design and implementation of 2 demonstration sites, considering up- and downstream fish migration by using innovative tools for optimized design (1-D and 2-D acoustic fish telemetry and the use of an agent based model for optimal fish passage).
