Habitat use of Twaite Shad (Alosa fallax) in the Belgian part of the North Sea

Project Details

Abstract

Commissioned by the FPS Public Health, Food Chain Safety and the Environment, the Marine Environment Service, the Aquatic Management team of INBO will tag twaite shad with data storage tags (DSTs) in spring over a period of 4 years. These devices measure water temperature and depth for 1 year, which make it possible to determine the traveled route of the twaite shads (and therefore the habitat use) via geolocation.
