Integrated environmental monitoring informs adaptive management of coastal wetlands

Project Details

Abstract

TSI Flyway2 is an international collaboration between Belgium, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain. It focuses on the protection of coastal wetlands and migratory birds along the East Atlantic Flyway. In the first phase, the existing monitoring landscape will be mapped: actors, methods, data, and gaps. In the second phase, best practices will be collected and translated into a harmonized monitoring framework. This framework will support Member States in ecosystem restoration, marine spatial planning, and cross-border policy alignment, and will contribute to achieving European and international biodiversity and climate objectives.
