Licensed hunting of roe deer

Project Details

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the feasibility, potential and advantages and disadvantages of licensed hunting as a management tool for roe deer and, by extension, other game species in Flanders (agreement ANB/BL-FF/WILDBEHEER/4/2009). The pilot project is taking place in the Gewestbos Ravel national forests and the Hoge Vijvers Arendonk. Since 2013, INBO has also helped monitor a number of additional sites in this region which will also be leased. In 2014 an overview report was also compiled for the period 2010-2013.
