Abstract
In 2015, we made a monitoring plan to follow up the effect of mitigating measures against acidifying deposition, in the framework of an environmental permit for a company close to the habitat directive area Kempense Kleiputten. In 2017-2018, the first monitoring round for this project was carried out (T0).
Now, the company asks if we can also carry out the second monitoring round, and more specifically the follow-up of the acidification sensitive aquatic habitats within the zone of the presumed deposition plume. These aquatic habitats should be monitored every three years. We determine the physico-chemical status, carry out a vegetation survey, determine the conservation status of the ponds, and analyse the epiphytic diatoms.
