Monitoring the organic carbon level in Flemish soils in public domain and private gardens (C-GAR) (EVINBO)

Project Details

Abstract

It is important to obtain a correct picture of the current stocks of organic carbon in the Flemish soils. In the Flemish Climate Policy Plan, a soil carbon monitoring network is put forward as a priority task. The project proposed here contributes to the development of this monitoring network. For a manageable and cost-efficient sampling in gardens and public green spaces, it is necessary to estimate the present variability, before starting a large-scale sampling.
