Nature Restoration Law: Data & GIS

Project Details

Abstract

In order to optimally capture and store data from monitoring activities carried out under the Nature Restoration Law, make this data readily available for analysis, and make them accessible, support in the area of data management is essential. We focus on mapping data flows (via Data Management Plans), optimising data flows for reporting under the Nature Restoration Law, and providing day-to-day support in the use of central data systems and infrastructure (including the introduction of key indicators for European protected habitats and habitats). In terms of GIS support, we facilitate further analyses for calculating the requested indicators. In doing so, we also take into account the needs in terms of analysis and storage infrastructure. In addition, we also provide additional support for the Biological Valuation Map in relation to the additional mapping of habitat areas and habitats outside Natura 2000 areas.
