Nature Restoration Law: eDNA

Project Details

Abstract

For projects involving the collection of eDNA from soil and water, there are two thematic DMPs that cover both the storage and processing of genetic data. These provide a detailed, partially ready-made basis for drawing up data management plans for such projects. There is also a need for support in processing and FAIR disclosure of eDNA-based observations and protocols in overarching, domain-specific data platforms such as the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) and the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA), and generic repositories such as Zenodo and protocols.io.
In this way, the data will not only be operationally usable, but also structurally usable for the reporting obligations for the Nature Restoration Law and habitat reporting.
