Abstract

This project comprises (i) project development and coordination and (ii) policy-supporting research on herpetofauna, related to actions listed in the approved species protection programmes. It includes research supporting different breeding programmes (e.g. common midwife toad Alytes obstetricans, common spadefoot toad, Pelobates fuscus), endangered species (e.g. fire salamander Salamandra salamandra, great crested newt Triturus cristatus) and invasive species such as African clawed frog Xenopus laevis and marsh frog Pelophylax ridibundus s.l..
