Abstract
Misgurnus fossilis (the "weatherfish") is a European Habitat Directive species (Annex II) that is critically endangered in Flanders. For this purpose, a species protection plan was developed by INBO on behalf of ANB and approved by the minister at the end of 2021. This plan will be rolled out between 2021 and 2025 and contains a breeding programme, monitoring and research tasks that will be carried out by INBO.
