SASMOD - Survival Analyses of Seabirds for population MODelling

Project Details

Abstract

Within the Dutch 'Wozep" (Wind op zee ecologisch programma, Wind at Sea Ecological Programme), statements must be made about the effects of offshore wind turbines on seabirds. This is why the Ministry of Economic Affairs, in cooperation with the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat), wants to have a number of population dynamic models drawn up for a number of species. The aim of SASMOD is to obtain additional information about the age-specific survival of a number of seabird species. This will serve as an important input parameter for more reliable population models.
