Abstract
Zandgroeve De Maere owns two lakes (OVLDND0202 and OVLDND0224) in the Meirdam area (Dendermonde). The company is interested in shoaling these two lakes. To this end, advice was sought from INBO. After gathering information and visiting the site (September 2024), INBO concluded that there were knowledge gaps that made it impossible to provide well-founded advice based on the available data. These knowledge gaps mainly concern the current ecological value and functioning of the lakes.
This project aims to fill these knowledge gaps so that a well-founded recommendation can be made. INBO will explore the possibilities whereby shoaling the lakes could lead to ecological added value.
