Project Details
Abstract
The beaver species protection programme focuses on coexistence with beavers. Knowledge about the expected evolution in population size and geographical distribution is very important in this regard. This knowledge helps to make a good estimate of the necessary measures and to enable their targeted and proactive deployment. INBO created a risk and prevention map for this purpose in 2020. An update and optimisation of this map is planned for 2025. This will include further refinement of the underlying population model and additional data. In addition, the usability and availability of the online map will be improved for various actors, including watercourse managers.
