Abstract
This report supplements the management proposal for the levees of the tidal-dependent Beneden-Nete and the Grote and Kleine Nete. Its aim is to develop a management proposal for the levee vegetation along the Grote Nete between Itegem and Oosterlo, and for the levee vegetation along the Nete Diversion Canal in Lier.
Comprehensive mapping shows that Type 3 Species-poor Arrhenatherum-grassland is the most common vegetation type on these levees.
Management guidelines are provided for the conservation of the target types, and a conversion management strategy to develop the non-target types, such as species-poor and overgrown Arrhenatherum-grassland and nettle scrub, into the target types.
We also propose a monitoring plan.
