Abstract
This project in set within the domain of ecological mycology.
It tries to characterize communities of wood-inhabiting fungi and to elucidate patterns within - and among these communities. Surveys of fungi will be made using both the classic fruitbody (mushrooms) survey and eDNA metabarcoding of wood samples. Both methods will result in presence/absence community datasets. These datasets will be used to answer 3 questions: 1) How does the fungal community change during complete wood decomposition? 2) Do communities change in response to environmental change (nitrogen deposition and level of naturalness)? 3) What is the effect of an individual log over long decomposition times?
