Abstract
In the first part of the study, we formulate ecologically relevant reference values for the main nutrients in groundwater, i.e. nitrate, nitrite, ammonium and orthophosphate.
In the second part of this report, we give an overview of modelling tools that can be used to visualise groundwater flows and nutrient fluxes.
In the third part of the report, we use the obtained limit values to explain and contextualise nutrient fluxes via groundwater.
In the final chapters, we elaborate on the possible impact of the increased nutrient concentrations on biodiversity, on semi-terrestrial vegetation in the seepage zone and on macrophytes in the watercourses. We also formulate recommendations for further monitoring.
