Abstract
Vlaamse Waterweg nv is planning development works as part of the Seine-Scheldt European waterways programme. The aim of this study is to map the natural values for the implementation of the development works. This report discusses fish communities, herbaceous roadside vegetation, highly invasive exotic plants, vegetation of some adjacent areas and bats in the stretch between Harelbeke and Sint-Baafs-Vijve (pand 150). The reed-breeding birds and grassland butterflies were inventoried in the stretch between Menen and Harelbeke (pand 160) and between Harelbeke and Sint-Baafs-Vijve (pand 150).
