eDNA-onderzoek naar de aanwezigheid van otter (Lutra lutra), muskusrat (Ondatra zibethicus) en de aanwezige visgemeenschappen in waterlopen van het Waterschap Brabantse Delta

We investigated the presence of European otters and muskrats using eDNA-based analyses in 50 water samples. We checked whether otters are returning to the study area and whether the redevelopment works are having a positive effect. In addition, information was obtained that should help to combat muskrats in a more targeted manner. Finally, eDNA metabarcoding was used at each of the sampling locations to map the fish community present in order to gain additional insights into fish stocks as a potential food source for otters.
