Abstract

This report discusses the negative effects of wind turbines on birds and bats in Flanders, such as mortality due to collisions and disruption of habitats and migration routes. The document contains risk analyses and discusses mitigating measures and impact monitoring. It is an update and revision of a publication of the same name from 2015.

The report is a tool for experts conducting impact studies at the project level and for governments developing or refining policy frameworks. The maps provided in the Geoloket accompanying the report offer a starting point for detailed analyses and strategic decision-making.
