    Abstract

Characters of the 4 Coltricia species reported from northern Belgium (Flanders, Brussels area) are verified and a key to the taxa is given. After revision of the extant herbarium material, it became clear that many old records of Coltricia cinnamomea represent C. perennis, and most recent records of C. cinnamomea are C. confluens. Furthermore, the difference between Coltricia confluens and C. perennis does not always seem clear; molecular research may be needed to clarify this situation.
Acutally, Coltricia perennis is fairly common in the Kempen district, elsewhere it is (rather) rare or lacking. This species is declining. C. confluens is rare but spreading, and both C. montagnei and C. cinnamomea are considered extinct in the area.
