Abstract
As part of the EU LIFE project ‘Belgium for Biodiversity’, we carried out an exploratory study aimed at gaining a better understanding of the perceptions and needs of farmers and other stakeholders in three pilot areas.
VLM and ANB wish to focus more strongly on nature-inclusive agriculture in these areas to help achieve the objectives of the Nature Restoration Regulation regarding agro-ecosystems.
From the wealth of results from interviews and workshops, supplemented by literature, we have identified the key areas for improvement in each of the three pilot areas. We have also drawn up a number of key recommendations for Flemish and European policy, which are necessary to enable the proposed improvements.
