Abstract

Midges occur naturally in estuarine ecosystems such as the Zeeschelde. After years of absence, they reappear more frequently, sometimes occurring so massively that they cause great inconvenience to local residents. This report describes the ecology of the in order to describe the measures you can take to avoid an infestation. We describe a set of measures that can be considered with increasing degrees of exceptionality and with increasing impact on self-directed development. This report has been developed specifically for Groot and Klein Broek along the Durme.
