    Abstract

    After the decline in the average ‘kilometre index’ - an indication of the number of roe deer - in 2014 and 2015, the population seems to have stabilised at a lower level for several years. While the average kilometre index hovered around 1 roe/km from 2008 to 2013, it never exceeded 0.75 since 2014 and has been at a significantly lower level.
