Abstract
To facilitate the choices in the management of nature reserves, a regional analysis of habitat networks, potentials and constraints can give new insights and provide important support. A stepwise approach to derive nature targets for the cross-border (Belgium/The Netherlands) regional landscape of Kempen-Broek was elaborated in a project to define goals and measures for defragmentation. From a selection of target habitats and species, guidelines were derived to define management goals over entities at regional and local scale level. From this analysis, measures were identified and prioritized for defragmentation of the regional landscape.
