Abstract

Groundwater levels are a key factor in determining the occurrence of many types of vegetation. Climate change and other human interventions are also putting these groundwater levels under severe pressure.
Based on 129 vegetation surveys and 132 time series of groundwater levels for the period 2012-2019 in the Flemish dune valleys, this report determines the abiotic ranges for the characteristic groundwater levels of the various semi-terrestrial subtypes of wet dune valleys.
