Abstract
In het overgrote deel van Frankrijk zorgt de Aziatische hoornaar (Vespa velutina nigrithorax) al meerdere jaren voor overlast. Door nestvorming in menselijke constructies en de predatie op allerlei insecten, waaronder honingbijen, is deze invasieve hoornaarsoort geen graag geziene gast. Bovendien rukt de soort noordwaarts op, waardoor binnenkort ook Vlaanderen aan de beurt is.
