The history of the inventory in northern Belgium (Flanders and Brussels, fig. 1) of basidiomycetes and slime moulds is rather rich (chapter 3) but the knowledge increased significantly since 1990 because of the increased efforts of mapping, the increased taxonomical knowledge among the amateurs, and the computerisation of data. This report gives the first critical species list of Basidiomycota and Myxomycota of northern Belgium.
The total number of species recorded with certainty (labelled as “1”, and for indoor species “4”) since 1830 is 2787 (table 3). Taxa not recorded since 1980 are labelled “
No taxonomical novelties are introduced here, except for Entoloma calthionis which is considered a synonym of E. ventricosum.
