Raïsa Carmen is a researcher at EV-INBO (Eigen Vermogen van het Instituut voor Natuur- en Bosonderzoek).
Her current research is firstly centered on urban green-blue infrastructure and the evaluation of ecosystems and ecosystem services in multifunctional landscapes. This research is executed in cooperation with national and international governmental organizations, research institutes, and civil society organisations. A second focus is natural capital accounting (NCA). The eventual goal is to design and implement a national natural capital account according to SEEA-EEA standards that can be aligned with existing national statistics.
Previously, Raïsa achieved a PhD in Operations Management from KU Leuven on capacity planning in hospitals) and did a post-doc with the circular economy policy research center of the Flemish government. A common thread in her career so far has been a passion for data analysis, statistics and optimization.
