Advanced Liquid Biofuels for advanced engine concepts enabled by advanced wood breeding and catalysis
AD LIBIO is a fundamental research project to store high-density renewable energy in stable liquid biofuels. The project aspires to produce new biofuel from locally cultivated wood, rich in cellulose, through inventive bio-refinery. The biofuel is ideal for blending into conventional fuels, and will eventually also be able to be used integrally in ultra-pure combustion engines for applications that are difficult to electrify. Profitability, quality and sustainability in the value chain are important project drivers.
