Abstract

In the large Special Protection Areas (SBZ), natural dynamic processes play an important role in achieving the objectives for nature types in general and for Natura 2000 conservation objectives in particular. In these large areas, the natural processes involved in process-oriented management are often controlled. In smaller areas, a combination of process and pattern management is more likely in order to achieve the conservation objectives.
